Thunder Percussion

An Ableton Live project featuring several drum racks of Thunder Storms. These samples were captured from a multi-mic field recording of a thunder storm with a Zoom H4n, an Apex Shotgun mic, and a Shure SM57. The racks are  made up of raw and processed thunder strike samples and other various storm sounds that were surgically edited to find the most percussive moments.  Other storm sounds, like the hiss of the rain hitting the ground, along with the surrounding city sounds, offer a rich matrix of environmental storm samples to create something new and stormy.
